Coppertop Metals is a custom metal fabrication shop located in St. George, Utah. As a Custom metal fabricator every project is unique, designed for each clients needs and specifications. We work with architects, general contractors, and designers on high-end projects requiring specialized design and fabrication skills.
About the artist
Zac Hawkins is a coppersmith artist and business owner with his roots planted firmly in St. George, Utah. He specializes in custom Copper Art, but works with many different types of metal for creating stylish add ons for home and businesses. Living in Southern Utah most of Zac’s life, he learned to appreciate the timeless beauty and detail of the unique landscapes that you’ll see infused into many of his copper designs.
Zac began his path as an artist at an early age when he began drawing his inspirations, using paper as an outlet for his creativeness to grow.
Founding
Fifteen years ago, Coppertop Metals began in our garage with a dream and a simple metal break. The worst economic crisis since The Great Depression soon took hold. We watched our industry crumble around us. It seemed the only segment of the market moving was the high-end luxury market. Custom products were still in demand. Zac, a born artist, and self taught craftsman learned how to build the custom products people wanted in their dream homes.
our early years
Our little business grew along with our little family. We used every resource we could find to learn the skills needed to grow our business. In 2012 our hard work paid off and moved to a little shop in St. George, UT. The move expanded our horizons and talents dramatically. We were able to expand our products to include custom fascia systems, cupolas, countertops, art and anything else our clients could imagine. At this point we couldn’t do it ourselves anymore.
Expansion
Over the past decade we have grown into a team of eight craftsmen. We expanded to the shop doubling our space and added a welder to our team. We have been featured in The St. George Area Parade of Homes every year since 2012 contributing to over 30 homes. Our work is featured at the beautiful Amangiri Resort and The Advenire Hotel. Zac’s art has been shown in the Art’s to Zion Showcase, The Arrowhead ETC and Coyote Gulch.
Our Next Chapter
Coppertop Metal has been invited to join The Foundry, a campus created to elevate and inspire the design/build environment in Southern Utah. The campus will host a collection of like minded, design conscious companies who have carefully curated an assortment of quality products and services in one place. Our new space will include a showroom, a 10,000 sq ft metal shop and provide limitless possibilities to our craft. Coppertop Metals will continue to expand upon our range of capabilities while staying true to our roots by providing the highest quality handmade custom designs to our clients.
